Projecting from the Podium

Turn System On

  1. Tap touchscreen twice to wake. Tap Room Controls button.
  2. Tap the large green On button (left side) to power on projectors and lower screens.
  3. If you do not wish to use both projectors, tap Turn off button for the Left or Right projector. Tap Up to raise the screen.

Turn System Off

  1. Tap touchscreen twice to wake if necessary. Tap Room Controls button.
  2. Tap the large green Off button (left side) to power off projectors and raise screens.

Choose a method to display

Project from built-in computer

  1. On top row, tap Podium MAC button.
  2. On Send Source row, tap Right Display and/or Left Display
  3. On Select Audio row, tap Left or Right to match the display you are using. Either button will work if you are using both projectors. Podium Audio Mute button should be off.

Project from external laptop

  1. Connect laptop using VGA or HDMI cable on podium.
  2. On top row, tap Podium Sources button.
  3. Tap VGA or HDMI button to match your cable.
  4. On Send Source row, tap Right Display and/or Left Display.
  5. On Select Audio row, tap Left or Right to match the display you are using. Either button will work if you are using both projectors. Podium Audio Mute button should be off.

If your Apple desktop is not displaying:
From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences.
From the View menu, choose Displays.
Click the Arrangement tab.
Check "Mirror Displays" box in the bottom-left corner.

 

Project Wirelessly from the ETU Checkout Apple TV using Airplay (for OSX and iOS devices)

Note: Only 1 device can be connected to AirPlay at a time, but switching between devices is simple -- the first device disconnects via the AirPlay menu, and another device can connect, prompting a new numerical code (See steps #4 and #5)

  1. Plug in the power cable and HDMI cable on the podium
  2. On top row, tap Podium Sources button and tap HDMI button
  3. On Send Source row, tap Right Display and/or Left Display.
  4. On Select Audio row, tap Left or Right to match the display you are using. Either button will work if you are using both projectors. Podium Audio Mute button should be off.
  5. Check to see if your laptop or iOS device allows AirPlay Mirroring
  6. Power on the projector, and from then Epson remote or wall control pad, press Source Search and select Display Port 
  7. Using the Apple remote in the classroom, press Menu to display the AppleTV home screen.
  8. On your device, connect to the EDUROAM wireless network, and log in using your UCLA Logon IDeduroammenu`

 

9 . Click the AirPlay icon in the top menu bar and choose your classroom.

(If your airplay menu is not already in your menu bar, go to System Preferences > Displays and check the box for Show mirroring options in the menu bar when available.)

 

10. A numerical code will display on the projector-- enter that code into the popup on your laptop

If your laptop screen doesn't display, choose the following from the Airplay menu:

11. To disconnect, click the AirPlay menu in the toolbar and select Disconnect AirPlay Display.

Note: you must disconnect when you are finished so the next user can connect!
